It became a true movement of solidarity, rooted in compassion and driven by a deeply held belief: everyone deserves access to high-quality care close to home, especially when facing health challenges.<\/p>\n<p>Thanks to the extraordinary generosity of our donors, partners, and volunteers, the campaign raised more than $2.9 million. These funds made a direct and tangible contribution to improving access to specialized care at HGH, benefiting the entire regional population.<\/p>\n<h2>Mission accomplished thanks to you<\/h2>\n<p>Funds raised through the There\u2019s No Place Like Home campaign supported the acquisition of essential medical equipment and the expansion of key services, including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Orthopedic services: $350,000<\/li>\n<li>Ophthalmology services: $700,000<\/li>\n<li>Advanced (3D) mammography: $830,000<\/li>\n<li>Urology services (lithotripsy and cystoscopy): $300,000<\/li>\n<li>Endoscopy services: $400,000<\/li>\n<li>C-ARM imaging unit (urology and orthopedics): $134,000<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>These concrete investments now allow more patients to receive specialized care right here in Hawkesbury, reducing travel to larger centers and improving the overall experience for patients and their families.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2>About the funded equipment<\/h2>\n<h3>Lithotripsy \u2013 Kidney stone treatment<\/h3>\n<p>Lithotripsy equipment allows kidney stones to be treated in a less invasive way, reducing pain, the risk of complications, and the length of hospital stays. Thanks to this technology, patients can now receive this type of treatment at HGH, closer to home.<\/p>\n<h3>C-ARM imaging unit \u2013 Urology and orthopedic surgery<\/h3>\n<p>The C-ARM is a mobile imaging unit that is essential during many surgical procedures. It provides highly precise, real-time imaging, enhancing safety, efficiency, and quality outcomes in both urology and orthopedics.<\/p>\n<h3>Ophthalmology equipment<\/h3>\n<p>New ophthalmology equipment significantly enhances diagnostic and treatment capabilities for eye diseases. It plays a vital role in preserving vision and quality of life for patients in our region.<\/p>\n<h3>3D mammography \u2013 Early detection of breast cancer<\/h3>\n<p>The new 3D mammography unit improves the early detection and diagnosis of breast cancer. It identifies abnormalities earlier and with greater accuracy than traditional mammography.
