The Hawkesbury and District General Hospital (HGH) is looking for an Otorhinolaryngologist to join its dynamic ambulatory care and surgical teams.

HGH is a family and patient-centred bilingual regional hospital. We provide essential services to the residents of Prescott-Russell and the  surrounding region. As the majority of the population we serve is francophone, fluency in both French and English is a requirement.

Clinical Setting and Duties

Our team is currently composed of an Otorhinolaryngologist and an Audiologist.

HGH provides attractive benefits such as zero overhead expenses and the opportunity to work in our state-of-the-art, newly constructed ambulatory care building. The booking clerks book all audiology tests, follow-ups, consults, and OR procedures for you.

The department is equiped with a Zeiss PICO OPMI S100 microscope and several video rhinolaryngoscopes (ENF-V3) including channelled laryngoscopes to perform in-office biopsies.

Our ORs have also undergone recent renovations to introduce natural lighting and are equipped with the latest equipment including the NIM Vitals navigator and 4k high-resolution monitors in the OR.

Procedures currently being done in our OR include:

  • FESS – Simple and Bilateral
  • Septoplasty or Septorhinoplasty
  • Thyroidectomy
  • UPPP
  • Submandibular Gland Removal
  • Open-neck biopsy
  • Parotidectomy
  • Tonsillectomy
  • Adenoidectomy

A minimum of 2 days of dedicated OR time per month are available as well as a minimum of 2 clinic days per week. A dedicated audiologist is available 2 days a week. In addition, we have a sound booth and the ability to conduct multiple audiology tests, making our facility well equipped to address hearing-related concerns.

Qualifications

  • Certification from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or equivalent qualification
  • Independent practice license from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario
