As a public institution, Hawkesbury and District General Hospital (HGH) is subject to the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA).
The purpose of FIPPA is to:
- Provide the public with access to government records.
- Protect the privacy of individuals’ personal information held by public institutions such as HGH and provide individuals with access to that information.
Requesting information from HGH
HGH promotes a culture of openness and accountability. This website contains readily-available records including hospital statistics, plans, reports, financial statements, senior management expenses, compensation for executives and many other types of documents.
If you cannot find the information you seek online, please contact the Quality and Patient Safety Office for assistance. We will let you know whether the information can be provided informally or if you have to submit a formal request under FIPPA. Please note that all information collected about patients is confidential and cannot be accessed through FIPPA.

Making a FIPPA request
To make a formal request under FIPPA, write a letter that clearly explains the information you are looking for. Attach a $5.00 cheque, payable to Hawkesbury and District General Hospital to cover the application fee. Additional fees may apply if the request is deemed time-consuming.
